New Orleans National Youth Conference

We are on the road back from New Orleans at a Wendy's that has wifi, crazy all the menu's are on a lcd screen and move, guess this is where it's heading, I think I like it! Just a quick check in to say reading through Romans has helped me see it actually in action the last 3 days. I have been speaking 3 times a day to the youth and to adult leaders. Challenging them to go and make a difference in this world with the one life they have for Jesus. To take Romans 5,6, & 8 and see how to put this into action with the story of their life! I will upload video from these difference makers as well as the stories that have come out of this, one word synopsis--AMAZING! Thank you to all who were praying that God would speak loud through me and somehow use me to reach out to this next generation. They have been answered and it's been neat to see the leaders and youth respond. One quick story I got from a youth leader, after challenging his youth they went back to their hotel to decompress and talk about what they learned and one of his kids confessed to selling drugs and wants to change and do things Jesus way. He wants to make a difference in a positive way! How awesome is our God! There are over 25,000 kids here making a difference by going out into the community and helping local neighborhoods and causes. It has been amazing to see how God has worked through these kids!

    And, hopefully those kids will continue to make a positive difference after they return home and to their lives. Unfortunately for some, once the adrenalin wears off, they go right back to the same old, same old. I pray that God continues to work through them, and keeps them inspired to continue to help others, as well as themselves.

    Yeah, Amen, may the Holy Spirit continue to lead and guide them and may they grow thirsty for truth and what God has in store for their life!

In Greed We Trust?

We talked about GREED yesterday and how it is this intense selfish desire of wanting more. The desires take over our hearts and minds and cause us to get lost chasing the "things" from "StuffMart." I received an email where someone gave me this definition for GREED: "get all you can, can what you get, and sit on your can." That certainly falls in line with what Jesus was talking about in Mark 14:3-11 with the Foolish Rich man. It is evident that "In Greed He Trusted!" Today, studying the book of Numbers I'm wondering if there isn't a more subtle GREED that plagues our lives, especially those who are following Jesus? I've read the story before, as I'm sure you have too, in Numbers 20 where Moses faces the grumbling people of God again for the umpteenth time. Matthew 4:17 From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.” Our team is reading through Matthew this month correlating the day of the month with a chapter. I just read Matt 4 & 5 as I watched the snow fall to the ground.
