A New Approach To Outreach!

It seems like the church has somehow lost focus on reaching people the church is suppose to be for---those who don't know God. I think it really is easy to get satisfied with our own tribe and "holy huddle" that we forget about those who Jesus came to find-those who were lost. I am amazed at the teaching that He gives, and the "essieo" of His teaching wanting to help those who marginalized and helpless, He gives all He has for them. Jesus look out at them as "sheep with out a shepherd"

I want that kind of compassion yet if I'm honest it's rare to get and keeping it is a fight. It's far easier to look at the sheep in the pen and think that's where all my attention needs to be, because there are needs. Yet at the same time I see Jesus leave town, even when everyone there isn't healed... I do believe we are called to balance. There is a both and here that needs attention, but often it's easier just to focus on just one.

I say all that to share how excited I am because we have an event that I believe will reach people in dark places. A week from today we will host the 1st Annual Spa City Stomp Out! We will have a MMA Fight in our parking lot and it's going to be FOR REAL! The event is going to be first quality and the competition fierce! It is a free event where we are asking people to bring a canned good to benefit STOMP OUT HUNGER a local Christian Charity that provides food to underprivileged children. The whole point of this event is to have a place for people far from God to come and hear about Him in a way they can understand and digest. This event is an opportunity to show that we don't have a weak God and His Son Jesus is not a wimp but a warrior. There is a battle raging beyond the ring and our heart is to help those who don't know about Jesus' love and a God that cares about them in the struggle of life--to understand! I can't wait and would ask that you would pray over and for this event that many lives would be changed because of Jesus.

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6:12
